Heidi Sparkes Guber

A perpetual student of the human spirit, Heidi has devoted her life to traversing diverse cultures and learning universal languages that move participants to connect generatively, discover deep coherence and move powerfully into transformative action. Since the early 1970s, she has engaged in a lifelong study in how to create conditions that support individual and collective transformation. She has studied and worked with some of the greatest living teachers and practiced some of our most sacred traditions while applying the wisdom gained in organizational and community initiatives.

Since 1980, Heidi has worked with global corporations in the US, Europe and Asia, as well as with governmental agencies, foundations and non-profits. As a consultant member of SoL (Society for Organizational Learning) since 2002 and as founding chair of the Global Association of SoL Communities, she has been actively involved in in designing and facilitating numerous learning journeys, project collaborations and global forums.

Since 2011, Heidi has dedicated her practice to vital mission organizations and cross-sector social change as a founding partner of Fourth Quadrant Partners, which specializes in Emergent Learning – iterative micro-practices in collective learning that lead to greater impact and wellbeing, as well as to greater individual agency and capacity for transforming the world in which we live.  Her 4QP clients have included Living Cities, a social innovation consortium of the top 22 financial institutions and foundations in the US; numerous large and small foundations that fund systems change; and The Learning Alliance, a grass roots foundation that is catalyzing the Moonshot Movement, a national award-winning all-county breakthrough in early literacy for the children of Indian River County, Florida.  4QP continues to conduct research in the role of emergence in social change.

Heidi lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with her filmmaker husband. She is currently serving as an advisor to the Steering Committee of the SDG Synergy Circle.
