Vinit is passionate about nature and Earth-based wisdom, the arts, and spirituality. He is a musician and singer, and can often be found hiking or running on a trail in the mountains.
He is a co-founder of Planet Earth Arts, with the mission of using the arts to inspire the transformative change needed for social equity and environmental restoration. He is currently part of a media team working on a transformative feature length film, "Pachamama."
Vinit was executive director for 15 years of Sustainable World Coalition, a sustainability education nonprofit organization in Berkeley, CA. Their flagship summary publication is the Sustainable World Sourcebook. They produced four years of the Spring of Sustainability interview series with the Shift Network, producing hundreds of podcasts with luminaries that included Van Jones, Joanna Macy, John Robbins, Bill McKibben, Vandana Shiva, and many others.
He is the founder and co-director of Samasati Sanctuary, a gorgeous 10-acre retreat center in Asheville, NC. The sanctuary is a transformative field designed to activate one's highest evolutionary potential.
Staying rooted in both the domains of spirit/consciousness and earth/culture will be needed to awaken and transform both ourselves and our world.
